Lake Mary

Only recently has the quiet little town of Lake Mary awakened to the development that has touched so many other Central Florida communities. AT&T opened its corporate offices in 1989. With the presence of such major employers as Siemens Stromberg-Carlson, Lake Mary is redefining its future. A large, planned corporate district, new office parks and distribution centers are enticing more business and high-tech firms.
With plenty of room for development, new subdivisions are appearing everywhere. Moderate master-planned neighborhoods offer single and multi-family homes. Modestly priced modular housing for seniors can be found at The Forest. In communities like Wingfield Reserve, executive homes are a must and Alaqua offers exceptional estates.
Lake Mary is just a short drive to Orlando and offers a wide variety of recreational pursuits and the county's top-rated schools. Lake Mary is still small-town Florida, but with a big-city outlook.

Heathrow

The new township of Heathrow is the epitome of luxury living in Seminole County. As a planned community, it offers a variety of housing on the high end.
In 1990, the American Automobile Association (AAA) relocated its national headquarters to Heathrow, and recently, Cincinnati Bell Information Systems (CBIS) opened a new facility there. Although still a very young municipality, Heathrow confidently looks forward to a long and dynamic future.

Sanford

Historic Sanford is the Seminole County seat. In its early days up to today, Sanford has become a prime distribution point because of the railroad and its position on the inland waterway. Tourism has not directly affected Sanford, but the great commercial boom it generated elsewhere is now making its mark. The Orlando Sanford Airport is undergoing major expansion and has been approved to handle international flights. These factors, along with the revitalized downtown business district and extensive land available for development, are transforming Sanford's future. Lake Monroe, the Wekiva River, the Central Florida Zoological Park and many community festivals and events provide enjoyment for its residents.
Established neighborhoods featuring everything from older Florida "cracker" style houses and traditional homes, to beautiful lakeside estates are available in Sanford. New construction is everywhere and newer communities include Lake Forest, Tall Trees and Sylvan Lake Reserve.

A Few Other Communities

Chuluota and Geneva are still small towns near the Seminole County borders. Chuluota, in the far southeast corner near the Orange County line, is beginning to feel the effects of Oviedo's great blossoming. Geneva, in the east central area, is still unaffected, but will likely prosper as Seminole County's development reaches outward.
